BIO
Kawaski "KCentric" Nelson carves out a niche that incorporates music, television, multimedia, and technology.
As a native of Alabama, he was raised on static AM radios, public television, vintage jazz, hip-hop, and 80's music videos.
KCentric began his musical journey performing in talent shows, quickly making a name for himself around the local music scene.
In 1994, he formed the hip-hop duo, A.L.I.A.S., with his cousin "Slick Gilchrist." They recorded and performed together until the late 90s. In 2000, KCentric took a hiatus from performing but soon started producing music after purchasing a laptop and other
music equipment. He began writing songs for up and coming artists and also engineering part-time for a few local producers.
Around that time he also started in television. He got his first composer's gig when a producer heard one of his songs and asked if he could use it for his radio show. He obliged the request and soon after his instrumentals were being played on Sirius XM Radio.
KCentric's music has been featured on HBO, Discovery, TV Land, MTV, Independent Film Channel, A&E, and numerous radio shows and internet podcasts around the world. He has an international fanbase and still works behind the scenes in television.
He has worked with platinum producer Rick Rock, studied mixing with renowned recording engineer Roger Nichols, and is featured
on Turkish composer Murat Ses's albums, Umami and Beside The Sun. He also remixes music with various artists on the internet.
KCentric is currently collaborating with various DJ's and producers, composing music for tv and web shows, and licensing
his music and digital media to mobile content providers, advertisers, stock music libraries, and video game developers.
